A lot of times you can store that 4 pole in the vehicle which is really nice because it's gonna keep it protected from the elements. more

So this is how we have our trailer connector secured to the vehicle. Now, there are a couple of different ways to do this. We'll go over those a little bit later with you in the video, but this set up here I like the best that provides the best install look. So with our system here, it's gonna come with a 4-pole flat trailer connector, which is the most basic kind. Most trailers are gonna use this. more

Today on our 2019 Ford Transit Connect we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Tekonsha's T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with a 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector. And here we have our 4-pole wiring. This is what it'll look like when it's installed. You can also tuck it behind here when you're not using it. But when you are ready to use it, you can simply unwind it and it just drapes down over the back of the vehicle. And when you shut your door, it'll pinch in between your weatherstripping. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2015 Ford Transit Connect- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2015 Ford Transit Connect we'll be taking a look at and showing how to install the CURT T-Connector vehicle wiring harness with a four-pole flat trailer connector, part number C56218.Here's what our wiring looks like installed. This wiring harness gives us the basic lighting functions that are required by law in order for us to safely and legally tow a trailer. Our white wire provides the necessary ground connection between our Transit Connect and our trailer. Our brown wire provides our taillight and running light function. On this circuit we have a total power output of six amps, which is more than sufficient to tow a trailer that has several incandescent light bulbs, or basically as many LED lights as we want, because they do draw less power. The yellow wire is our left turn signal and left brake light. more

Hopkins Plug-In Simple Vehicle Wiring Harness Installation - 2015 Ford Transit Connect- Video
Today on our 2015 Ford Transit Connect, we're going to be taking a look at the Hopkins Plug-In Simple Vehicle Wiring Harness, part number HM11140264. Our Hopkins wiring is going to stay inside our vehicle at all times, and it's going to be right behind our spare tire tools here. Whenever we're ready to tow we can just let our 4-pole hang down, we can close our doors up, and then our wires will be ready whenever we're ready to hook up. To begin our installation, we're going to be getting in our back hatch, so I'm going to open up the doors. I want to remind you if you have anything in the back it's going to make the installation go a little bit easier and a little smoother if you clear out the back area. We come to the inside of our hatch here. We're going to remove the panel where our jack and our spare tire's tools are at. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2012 Ford Transit Connect- Video
Today on our 2012 Ford Transit Connect, we're gonna be taking a look at the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness, part number 118585. It's gonna have a 4-pole flat trailer end connector. It does come with a dust cover and it is gonna stay on the outside of the vehicle at all times. So, it's gonna be ready whenever we need our wiring. To begin our installation, we're gonna need to open up our rear doors so that we can gain access to remove the taillights. To remove our taillights, we have two plastic rotating clips. more

Part number is 118613. Right now here's what our wiring gets going to look like when we pull it out of the package. This is a really pretty straightforward system to get installed. Of course here is our goal, ending up with a working four pole trailer connector. This is going to give us right turn and brake, left turn and brake, and a running light signal. more
